Our team

Physical Edge can only perform for you if the team is right and with that in mind, we value attitude as much as skill.  The Physical Edge Team members are assessed for ”hands on” and diagnostic skill sets and a gold standard of performance must be achieved to work with us.  The assessment process also looks at prospective members and their appetite to learn, ability to be a team player, and their passion for caring. These values have been identified as keys to our outstanding results and so we will go the “extra mile” to make the difference for you and this starts with our employment process.

The Team has a healthy balance of Senior Therapists and Graduate Therapists along with Therapists with 5 or more years of post graduate experience. This creates a multidisciplinary team, which enables us to provide the bespoke options of care you may require.

Sam Bacon
Sam BaconSenior Physiotherapist

Sam graduated from the University of Cape Town, South Africa, in 2008. She spent a year working in a rural government hospital, in one of the poorest socio-economic areas in the country. She then spent four years in a private physiotherapy practice, treating sport and general injuries, post-operative rehabilitation and working closely with a local swimming club to provide dry land strength training to the athletes as a form of cross-training.

Sam moved to London in January 2014 and spent over a year doing locum work, ranging from the community to acute hospital environment. She has spent the last 3 years working for the NHS in a specialist head and neck cancer rehabilitation team. Working part-time at Physical Edge provides an outlet for her ‘first love’ – sport and general injuries.

Sam loves spending time outdoors, and most weekends you will find her hitting the trails or getting lost running around Wimbledon common.

Lisa Marie-Graham
Lisa Marie-GrahamSports Therapist, Personal Trainer & Pilates instructor

Lisa has been training for over ten years now. Her training began as a dancer and performer, as she completed a BA in Performance – Musical Theatre at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, and later moved into the fitness industry and Personal Training. It was here that she found her love for health and fitness and a passion for sharing that with others.

Lisa is a freelance trainer and works with a whole spectrum of clients, with a range of needs and goals. Lisa believes in training for heath, which can encompass anything from weight loss to building core stability, ultimately focusing towards creating a balanced, strengthened and often aesthetically improved physique. She likes to incorporate all elements of her background and training, including strength, flexibility, posture and alignment. Also, as a Pilates instructor, Lisa incorporates techniques and exercises from this into her programs, depending on the needs of the client.

In addition to this, Lisa completed her MSc in Sports Therapy in 2015. Liaising with the various therapists of her clients over the past couple of years has highlighted the importance of correct rehabilitation and awareness of muscular skeletal imbalances in training, which is why she is so excited to be starting her MSc and and working alongside Rhys and the other practitioners at Physical Edge.

Results come from finding an enjoyment in your training, that make it into a sustainable commitment! Lisa aims to make that happen for her clients, making fitness a complete lifestyle, from dedicated training and nutrition to overall well-being!
